The benefits of UKAS accreditation
You wouldn’t drive a car which didn’t have a current, valid MOT certificate – because the risks are obvious. The same is true of services from commercial laboratories – you need to make sure that your choice is safe and assured. You need the confidence that the laboratory operates within defined procedures and to established standards. You want to know that your work will be undertaken by a laboratory which has the right people, facilities, expertise, systems and track record to do the job right – first time and every time.
That’s what UKAS accreditation is all about. UKAS is the only accreditation body recognised by the UK government to assess, against internationally recognised standards, laboratories which provide test and calibration standards.
Accreditation by UKAS demonstrates the competence, independence and performance capability of laboratories.
